Price for the above DIY Flyer Shaft is $165. You will recieve: (1) 1/4" Straight Shaft, (1) Orifice End, (3) 1/4-20 LH Hex Nuts
Straight shaft measures just under .250 inch, and is supplied over long to allow customer to "Cut to Length" depending on their needs.
The orifice hole edges, will need to be deburred and sharp edges removed by customer.
Bobbin and whorls NOT included. Customer shall receive three matching nuts for making whorls.
Diameter of orifice end is running fit with 1/2 inch hole. Inside bore is 3/8 inch.
Diameter of flyer shaft is 1/4 inch, small end for rear maiden is running fit for 3/16 hole.
Metal is all STEEL.
Securing the Straight Shaft to the Orifice End may be done several ways and is not difficult for even a novice. Ideas on various methods used are outlined in our book Guide to Making Spinning Wheel Flyers and Wheels as well as an instruction sheet supplied with every purchase outlining simple methods with good results.
