Carson Cooper  made Spinning Wheels are individually handcrafted of select North American hardwoods in a variety of styles. All styles may be ordered as  "The Basic Wheel" or by selecting from our list of additional features you may create a design unique to your fiber specific needs. Standard Features of "The Basic Wheel"

Old world construction from solid hardwoods, absolutely NO plywood used!
Furniture Grade (Select) Eastern Cherry used for all wheels except Burl Normandy which is Eastern Walnut and Maple Burl
• Each wheel has high quality bearings at all pivoting or rotating assemblies
• Bronze bearings on treadle bar, with standard high quality cast bronze, or optional ball bearings on wheel axle.
4 Bobbins supplied with "Rulon"** /Teflon bearings (Visit our Technical Info page for more details)
Traditional thick leather flyer bearings.
• Traditional wooden threads for band tensioning adjustment
• Heel/Toe treadle design (except on Irish Castle) and turned wooden footman

All wheels come with a natural oil finish. (Note: Any style may be ordered unfinished  if desired for a cost savings of $100)
• Shellac finish is also available at an additional cost of $285 per wheel and generally increases delivery time.

4 drive ratios standard, generally 8:1,10:1, 12:1 and 15:1. All suited for fine to medium yarns
3/8 brass orifice standard. Orifices of 1/4" and 1/2" available at small additional charge. (Visit our Technical Info page for details)
The flyer is double drive but comes standard with Scotch tensioning for converting to single drive use

• All wheels available either left or right handed at no additional charge (may increase delivery time a little if ordering left hand).

• All wheels are signed by the maker, dated and numbered sequentially.

All wheels come boxed as a kit for shipping with tools and easy step by step, illustrated instructions for customer assembly.
Note: Wheel itself comes fully assembled, as well as flyer and single treadle. Normandy base also comes fully assembled.
Customer pays only actual shipping charge at time of receipt
per current UPS rates, COD upon delivery.
There is a very small additional UPS charge for this service
